FITS - Fire in the Sky - 2005

A Central tradition. Drawing huge crowds, the annual 4th of July "Fire in the Sky" or "FITS" is probably the single largest event on the Central calendar.

A concert is held in the park just south of the campus, followed by an incredible fireworks display.
















This year was especially interesting as I was given a peek of the actual fire control of the show. These people are positively nuts to be doing this. Dressed in fire blast suits, each shell is loaded in the tube by hand, then lit by flare. But it does look fun, doesn't it?
